Day case unit contains 17 beds in 3 areas receiving all types of minor surgeries. In this unit the patient is prepared by a qualified team doctors, nurses, and anesthetist before sending them to the operation room, through a comprehensive assessment to ensure patient safety.

Medical and nursing care are provided post operative. And all cases should be stabilized before discharge from the unit unless patient condition needs more monitoring, in this situation, transfer to another department will be arranged according to the patient's condition.

Example of some procedures:

• Minor general surgeries.
• Minor pediatric and gynecological surgeries.
• Dental surgeries.
• Minor cosmetic surgeries.

Some of the nursing services provided are:

• Giving I.V. Fluids and I.V. medications.
• Giving blood and blood products.
• Medication administration.
• Routine checkup and diagnostic tests.

And when the patient is ready for discharge, he/she will get full explanation of their medical status and the safety precautions that they need to consider such as:

• No driving for 24 hours.
• No smoking in bed.
• Not to use electrical and sharp equipment for 24 hours
