The Specialty Hospital began in 1993 with 88 beds, and as a result of growing demand and continued success, we gradually increased its capacity to reach 262 beds, which are fully equipped to provide the best specialized diagnostic and therapeutic services. Also, many new sections were opened and expansions were made for most departments.

The hospital employs the best doctors and consultants in all medical specialisations, who obtained the American Board certificate or the British Fellowship or its equivalent. It also employs nursing, technical and management staff with advanced degrees and excellent experience in their fields.

From the very beginning, we made sure to provide the Hospital with the latest devices and equipment, as well as the latest in world medical technology. Therefore, the Specialty Hospital was the first hospital in the Middle East to use MRI Tesla3, which is an advanced imaging device that provides very clear images of the body and detects tumors, regardless of their size. We were also the first to use the Multi-Slice CT-64 device, which provides accurate imaging of arteries and veins, making the diagnostic catheter redundant.

The Specialty Hospital was amongst pioneering Jordanian hospitals that provided treatment and diagnosis of sleep disorders, laser vision correction, skin care and laser treatment, compressed oxygen treatment center, the Specialty center for nutrition and treatment of obesity, and the status of nuclear medicine center, osteoporosis, study center of the bladder and urinary tract dynamics. In addition, we provide surgery and treatment of the following diseases: heart, bone, kidney, urinary tract, brain, nerves, eyes, blood, tumors, endocrine, vascular, plastic, and teeth and jaws surgery.

Based on the Hospital's belief and care for quality services and patient safety, we have committed ourselves to applying the best International Quality Standards in providing the finest medical and hospitality services to our patients. As a result, we were accredited by the Joint Commission International (JCI) since 2008, making our Hospital amongst the leading hospitals in the world. We were also the first Jordanian hospital to be accredited by the Health Care Accreditation Council (HCAC) in 2008, in addition to being one of the first hospitals to receive ISO 9001 certification since 2000. The Hospital also received the HACCP certificate in 2006, which is given for the high quality of food, nutrition and foodstuffs available in the hospital for patients and staff. The Hospital's laboratories received the European laboratory Accreditation ISO 15189 for medical testing, which ensures patient access to high accuracy of results analysis.

The Hospital also received the OHSAS 18001 Certificate for ensuring staff occupational health and safety, and ISO 14001 Environment Certification. It has also been awarded the Excellence in Occupational and Health Safety by the Social Security Corporation for excellence in occupational safety and health.

It continued its mark of excellence through obtaining numerous local and international awards. The Hospital was the first hospital to receive the Islamic Countries' Excellence Award from the Organization of Islamic Conference, which is given to the best in Muslim countries. Its achievements were crowned by winning the highest award for large service sector institutions, King Abdullah II Award for Excellence, for two consecutive years (2005/2006) (2008/2009), thus becoming the first and only hospital to win this award.

The Specialty Hospital is also proud to have received a certificate of appreciation and leadership for its initiatives in medical excellence at the national level. This was given in recognition of its medical achievements, and its valuable participation in the process of development and progress in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Middle East.
