Continuing the dynamic development of the Specialty Hospital strategy lead to achieve Baby Friendly Hospital certificate from Health Care Accreditation Council (HCAC), UNICEF and as the first private hospital to achieve this certificate with golden level. In which the audit team expressed the high quality and the professionality they saw during the evaluation in meeting the required standards regarding encouraging, educating and increasing mothers’ awareness about breastfeeding benefits for both mother & baby, fostering the relationship between them, as well as implementing (rooming in) in which the baby stays with the mom during their stay in the hospital, and compliance to breast feeding only unless there is any medical need.
The General Manager Dr. Fawzi Al Hammouri mentioned that the Specialty Hospital is proud to provide constant commitment, capability to stay updated with all scientific, technical & administrative issues within hospital strategy in order to ensure continuous quality and implementing the latest international and national standards to provide excellent services.
Dr. Fawzi Al Hammouri congratulated all the staff who were involved in implementing the Baby Friendly Hospital initiative, stressing on the importance of team work which results in the achievements the hospital achieved through continuing the journey of accreditation, certification nationally and internationally in healthcare quality and patients’ safety.
The Specialty Hospital is the first private hospital to provide a breastfeeding room for the hospital's visitors to encourage them to breastfeed in a dedicated, safe and clean place that provides privacy and comfort for the mother and her baby.
