The Specialty Hospital organized two awareness days on the importance of thyroid health in parallel with Thyroid Awareness Month, in January. The event aimed to raise awareness about thyroid diseases, their treatments, and the necessity of adopting a healthy lifestyle to support thyroid functions.
The first day was dedicated to medical professionals. Dr. Saleh Al-Araj a consultant in nuclear medicine, delivered a scientific lecture titled "Thyroid scintigraphy in the evaluation of thyroid disorders," highlighting the latest diagnostic techniques.
dditionally, Dr. Odeh Al-Taleb, also a consultant in nuclear medicine, presented a lecture on "Radioactive iodine therapy in management of thyroid diseases" explaining its effectiveness in improving thyroid function in patients. The event was attended by several resident doctors and interns from the Specialty Hospital, who engaged in discussions about the latest advancements in diagnosing and treating thyroid disorders.
The second day focused on raising awareness among the public. Dr. Nadim Al-Jarrah, a consultant in endocrinology and diabetes, delivered a lecture explaining the key symptoms of thyroid disorders and emphasizing the importance of regular check-ups for early detection. He also provided guidance on effectively managing thyroid issues and improving the quality of life for affected individuals by following prescribed treatments and consulting their healthcare providers. Attendees actively participated by asking questions and engaging in discussions, expressing their appreciation for the valuable information provided.
