The Specialty Hospital Celebrates being the First Hospital in Jordan recognized by The Joint Commission International (JCI) as a Center Of Excellence for Cardiac Disease Specific Accreditation in two programs

The Specialty Hospital celebrated under the patronage of the CEO, Dr. Fawzi Al-Hammouri in recognition to be the first hospital in Jordan and the seventh in the world recognized by The Joint Commission International (JCI) as a Center of Excellence for Cardiac Disease Specific Accreditation in Acute Myocardial Infarction and Heart Failure.. The hospital received this accreditation for implementing the highest quality standards of patients' care and safety for cardiac patients.  
   

Where Dr. Fawzi Al-Hammouri, the CEO of the Specialty Hospital talked the tremendous efforts that were invested in order to get these certificated and he stressed on the importance of cardiac diseases which is considered the leading cause of death in the Arab World. 
The Specialty Hospital includes the largest CCU department in the Jordanian private sector and the hospital is well equipped by having the latest biplane cath, and the first and the only CT 512 slices that it can scan the coronaries in one heartbeat, and with 80% less radiation than other CTs.    

And to achieve the requirements of this accreditation the hospital established the first Cardiac Rehabilitation Center in Jordan, this center is concerned with cardiac patient's care and follows up after discharge to ensure continuity of care and to maintain improvement by rehabilitation through encouraging a healthier lifestyle by quitting smoking, reaching ideal weight, controlling lipid profile and the special physical exercises for cardiac patients.     
In addition to that, the Specialty Hospital was a leader in introducing the latest technology, TAVI procedure which replaces the Aortic heart valve without surgery and only through catheterization.     
A large number of consultants, cardiac specialists and surgeons, interventional radiologists and a number of representatives from health councils attended this ceremony, in which they expressed their positive feedback about the latest technologies which the Specialty Hospital provides.

Dr. Fawzi mentioned what the vice president of Joint Commission International Dr. Paul Chang wrote in his letter to the hospital as a complement of this achievement “The citizens of Jordan should be proud that the Specialty Hospital is focusing on the cardiac program on this most challenging goal to continuously raise quality to higher levels”.  
Dr. Fawzi thanked the staff for all their efforts that contributed to maintaining the high level of medical care, stressing that this achievement wasn't possible without the hard work and continuous efforts of the hospital's management and the highly qualified staff that were able to overcome all obstacles  and implement international standards to provide the best patients' care with high quality of medical services as this is very important to attract patients and encourage medical tourism, in addition Dr. Fawzi thanked all the consultants for their vital role in achieving this accreditation.     

Dr. Wesam Al Rabadi, Chief of Party of Jordan's Competitiveness Program expressed his pride to support this great achievement which will have a positive impact on local and regional patients.    
Dr. Sahar Al-Masri, General Manager Assistant for Quality Management gave a brief about the steps the hospital went through to achieve these certificates and she talked about the importance of teamwork and the involvement of all the stakeholders to ensure continuity of this achievement. 


The ceremony ended with the Jordanian artist Mr. Nabeel Sawalha that entertained the audience with a comedy show.
The Specialty Hospital one of the most awarded and accredited hospitals internationally.
This accreditation was done in cooperation with the Jordanian Competitiveness Program, USAID.
